Havnt posted here for while, so i might as put something in because i havent got much to do at the moment. Been very busy so not really had a chance to browse and such, including posting on here. I have however been keeping up with Lost and Heroes, and ive gotta say the half-season finale of Lost was pretty awesome. Oh well, at least ive got Heroes to watch while Lost is on its 3 months (!) break, then 19 episodes :D hurrah

Like i said ive got a hell of a lot of work to do. I have 3 essays to hand in for 3 consecutive wednesdays, along with module tests for ancient greek and several seminars for the rest of my subjects. Bah do students ever get some free time?

I might talk later if i can be bothered, for now ill just answer the QotD

Well here goes, my list of movies that I think are awesome. In no particular order:

  1. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring - 2nd favourite in the LotR trilogy
  2. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - 3rd Favourite in the LotR trilogy
  3. Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Favourite LotR movie
  4. South Park: The Movie - Classic Comedy Musical
  5. Jurrasic Park - Love the setpieces and sfx for it's time
  6. Jurrasic Park: The Lost World - Also rather awesome
  7. The Butterfly Effect - Very well done movie, Kutcher is perfect.
  8. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Jim Carrey can do serious roles too, and the story is mind-bending
  9. Snakes on a Plane - Come on, instant classic, no doubt about it
  10. The Shawshank Redemption - Almost a perfect movie
  11. Se7en - Classic thriller, Kevin Spacey is excellent in this
  12. Fight Club - Easily Brad Pitt's best movie
  13. Troy - Love this movie, Sean Bean rules
  14. Dr Strangelove - Cult Comedy Classic
  15. Raiders of the Lost Ark - Indiana Jones for the win
  16. The Last Crusade - Awesome combination with Sean Connery
  17. Goodfellas - Not seen the Godfather, but this is my favourite gangster movie
  18. The Matrix - the other 2 are rather lame, but this one is awesome
  19. Apocalypse Now - Epic, to put it in one word
  20. Der Untergang - Excellent Hitler, even better in German
  21. House of Flying Daggers - Beautiful epic movie
  22. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - The original that made it in the US
  23. Hero  - like #21, beautiful movie
  24. Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Need i say more?
  25. Monty Python and the Life of Brian - See above
  26. Alien - Classic horror chiller
  27. Aliens - see above
  28. Forrest Gump - One of Tom Hank's finest movies, also very sad
  29. Saving Private Ryan - The best WW2 extravaganza, Omaha Beaching landing chillingly realistic
  30. Terminator 2 - Saw this before the first one, Arnie doing what he does best. Sfx are awesome
  31. The Incredibles - Very funny, but not as good as...
  32. Finding Nemo - Adore this movie
  33. Oldboy - Twisted thriller with an epic twist
  34. Hard Boiled - One of the best action movies ever, John Woo rules all!
  35. Back to the Future - all parts are very good, specially Fox
  36. The Green Mile - Shocking tom Hanks movie, literally
  37. The Deer Hunter - Loved this movie first time i watched it
  38. Gladiator - Very well made film
  39. Black Hawk Down - Awesome cast, just you dont notice it at first
  40. Die Hard - All 3 are classic Bruce
  41. Wallace and Gromit Curse of the Were-Rabbit - Best claymation ever!
  42. Shrek 1 and 2 - Apart from Finding Nemo my favourite animated movie
  43. Monsters Inc. - Had me in tears of laughter all the way through
  44. Pirates of the Carribean 1 and 2 - Watch 2 last week, even better than the first
  45. Airplane! - One of the best comedies of all time
  46. Austin Powers 1 2 and 3 - Love Mike Myers in this one
  47. Blues Brothers 1 and 2 - Dan Akroyd and Jon Belushi are classic
  48. Bruce Almighty - Jim Carrey wins at comedy...
  49. The Truman Show - ...and at seriousness too
  50. Dodgeball - Very good movie, loved it
  51. Old School - Will Ferrel is excellent, also...
  52. Anchorman - ...in this movie
  53. Enter the Dragon - Bruce Lee wins...
  54. Tom Yoo Gong - ...but Tony Jaa is on a roll
  55. Kung Pow - Dubbing can never be funnier than this
  56. Kung Fu Hustle - Stephen Chow is excellent in kung fu comedy...
  57. Shaolin Soccer - ....and football kung fu comedy too
  58. Xmen 1,2,3 - Love all Xmen movies
  59. Wayne's World 1 and 2 - Mike Myers again is brilliant
  60. Face off - Travolta and Cage work awesomely together


Ive probably missed out several but oh well can't all be perfect.

Well, today has been a rather excellent day. Still working on my essay, which is around 1500 words now and stating to come along quite nicely, although im generaly not very good at essays.

Although not a very eventful day its been a very nice day. You know the kind of day :D

Anyways can't think of much else to write here except gonna go out tonight and get pissed or something, just generally having a good time. Also got the new episode of Heroes to watch tonight! Hurrah!
Im bored right now so in my next post im gonna stick in my collection of movies that i think are awesome. heh....

Yeah go for it, i only mention it because lately my keyboard typing skills have gone relatively downhill, no idea why. Maybe its this keyboard maybe its my lack of typing lots. Speaking of typing lots, alsmot almost (see what I mean) got my lovely Roman History essay done, only got like 500 words left to critically analyse the passage by the Roman Historian Livy. Hes a cool dude, honest!

This is the first night i've actually felt rather pleased with myself for having actually sat down and done some proper work. Now i've just gotta finish this essay, work through it again tomorrow, i mean today, and catch up on a load of other stuff, such as ancient greek. Yes i do ancient greek isn't that awesome? I don't know exactly why im doing it except that its basically my trump card:

"Hey, i do molecular-bio-genecularitismic-photosynthesisismnic-astro-law"
"Yeah? Well i know Ancient Greek"
(Stunned silence)

New episode of heroes tonight! Can't wait, the preview looked f-ing awesome. I'm starting to think its actually becoming better than Lost, and that's really saying something. If you live in the UsofA or Canade, then go watch it NOW! Monday night 8pm central watchamacallit whatever crazy central time thing you lot have going on there. If you live in the UK then touch luck, unless you want to...ehhh....completely legally... download it then go go go.

Im starting to recommend this Vox bloggy thing to others as its really quite polished. All i can think of is maybe the ability to make your own themes. Then I would love this forever.

Thinking of dying my hair blondish sometimes, you know, just for the hell of it. Oh well.

Gonna go watch some Viva La Bamb, one of the funniest shows ever.

Damnit, why does Msn Messenger always screw up for days on end for no apparent reason. I dont know about others, but if im not signed into msn most of the day i might just go mad because all of the lack of communication going on.

Lost the pub quiz i mentioned earlier today. Had some stupid questions about halloween that i didnt no anything about. Also some of the synonym questions i just couldnt figure out. Ah well i guess I cant win every week.

I think one of the most awesome things about my room over here in the Student Village in Swansea is that because of the layout of it, i can rotate my monitor on my pc to the left, angle it down. Coupled with my wirelesss keyboard and mouse and viola! I can now be the most ultimate lazy bastard, as if im not that anyway.

This blogging malarkey is actually rather relaxing. I can just write about random things while improving my keyboard skills. Which i might need later for my work.

Speaking of workm got a flipping essay to do for Wednesday about Livy and Polybius the Ancient Roman Historians. Guess i need some sleep now if im gonna do that tomorrow. Maybe a little bit of internet browsing should be alright, and maybe some gaming to.

Im an Aries, although astrology seems to be a pretty solid study, and rather old aswell, horoscopes area load of bullshit to be heonst. Theyre just pretty words to make one feel sure about oneself. I suppose that makes it alright. oh well.

As with regards to the title, as I was wondering home from Crossfire, Swansea's lovely gaming cafe (ill talk about this later) I stopped off at Mcdonalds - I know  I hate myself for it too, i was just hungry at the time. Anyways as i was sitting at my table I overheard an American couple and their little girl, wondering what they were going to have:

"Do you want anything (little girl's name)?"
"I want just a burger with some cheese on top"
"Oh you mean like a cheeseburger?"
"No I want a burger with some cheese on it, i don't want a cheeseburger!"
----

So this argument carried on for a while, the little girl being about 10 or summat, im no good with guessign ages, heh. I tried very hard not to giggle in the corner. Just get the brat a cheeseburger and tell her its a burger with cheese on top of it, for god's sake. Sometimes i really despise Americans. Reminds me of the time i was in Pompei in Greece on a college trip. It was raining and me and my mate were in the cafe, just having a mess around on Mario Kart DS, when this little American boy came up to us:

"Hi" - he said
"Hi"
"Do you speak english?(!!)" I just said hi to him for god's sake
"Yes"
"I'm American"
"Great"
"Can I play?"
"..." - at which point he wandered of disheartened. I swear American kids annoy me so

Anyways like i said i had just come back from playing a couple of games for the Iguk tournament. 3v3 team deathmatch on Call of Duty 2, which is the game i just happened to be really good at. Turns out though the other 2 guys on my team failed to show, which was really helpful. So we had to draft in two other guys who just happened to be there, and who'd never played the game before.  Honestly I am very good, but I just couldn't beat the other team with  in-experienced teammates. Bear in mind my kills alone just managed to scrape one win, and the other win was a default win. But we lost against two other teams who just happened to have players who could actually play the game.

Speaking of Call of Duty 2, when i first came to this Uni i noticed there was a Free for all deathmatch tournament going, of which 3 match nights had already been played. Its been 4 weeks since i first started pplaying and now im 2nd in the league, and ive already won £50 in the random lotto draws that have taken place (being every kill = 1 raffle ticket with a draw at the end).

Not to be egotistical or anything but im proud ive caught up so quickly, and I have actually been 1st in all match nights ive played since i first started. Heres the league table if you want to see it.

Anyways can't be assed to write anymore for now, got a pub quiz to go to and a friend owes me a couple of drinks. Me and my mates won the pub quiz last time and got 6 VIP tickets to the local club the following night, and it was rather awesome.
